Meet Fanisha (She/Her/Hers)

Thank you for stopping by! I am so happy you are here taking the dive to find a good match for you and your needs!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I specialize in Grief and Loss, Trauma, Transitional/Stress Management and Child Development. I offer individual and family therapy to adults, adolescence and young children. I have been in the mental health profession for over 10 years and have held many hats throughout my career.
Before settling in my career as a Psychotherapist, I started my career in mental health working with children whose mothers were incarcerated, experienced trauma, and had an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol but were able to reside with their infant or young child in a residential rehabilitation program. I have facilitated various groups, provided head-start services, support and education to parents, advocacy for children and families who were experiencing child sexual abuse, and served as a medical social worker in multiple different clinic settings. I have provided psychotherapy services for over half of my career and have found a deep passion for helping individuals reach their full potential.
My experience with different levels of severity in the mental health field and therapy allows me to meet you where you’re at. I take on a strength-based supportive approach to therapy where we work as a team - you’re the expert on your life and I’m here to help you learn more about yourself and give you the skills that you need to keep moving forward.
I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Person-Centered, grief and trauma-informed therapy, talk therapy, Play Therapy, EMDR, Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescence, Behavioral Modification, Psycho-Education, and Crisis Interventions modalities with individuals ages 2 and up. However, I tailor my approach to the needs of each client and make use of other therapeutic techniques depending on each learning modality.
I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship contributes significantly to therapeutic success. If you feel like we would be a good fit, let’s connect!
